To help reduce diabetes in the UAE, Sumaya wants to create a healthy, organic burger café which is affordable by all.

Thowaiba Mohammed Ahli

The Project in a Nutshell:

Concept: Eye-Library. Thuwaiba wants to launch a hub style café that provides braille books for the blind and provides work based training to people with special needs. In the next two years she wishes to scale by launching a braille book library bus which will travel around the Emirates.

Latifa Ahmed Ali

The Project in a Nutshell:

The problem is the big quantity of severed limbs of diabetic patients and Latifa's solution is to import artificial limbs and to provide educational workshops about the precautions to take to avoid limb severance.

Roudha Al Boom

The Project in a Nutshell:

Roudha wants to create an app that allows tourists to meet up with Emirati families.

Ahmed Al BuSaeedi & Omar Al Jabri

The Project in a Nutshell:

Due to stroke patients losing their ability to use their hands, Omar and Ahmed have invented a prosthetic hand that is the first of its kind in the region to help mobilize stroke victims.

Zahra Al Darweesh

The Project in a Nutshell:

Concept: Jumping Colours. Zahra wants to create a children’s colouring book that uses augmented reality combined with storytelling to help children get to know about Emirati culture and history.

Hebah Ali AlDhanhani

The Project in a Nutshell:

Hebah is focusing on how wearable’s can create social innovations in respect to the mobility of the blind. Her project is to design a belt that can guide the blind through Bluetooth technology.

Layla Ali Alhammadi, Sultan  Karrani & Reem Abdulla Almashjari

The Project in a Nutshell:

Sultan, Laila, and Reem want to provide workshops that teach Emirati cultural patterns and sewing skills to young people. They are looking at how to use emerging technologies to radicalize how crafts are appreciated in the gulf region.

Sultan Al Hammadi, Khaled Al Mouselli, and El Khatib Ayad Mohamed Ahmed Hamid

The Project in a Nutshell:

Khaled, Al Khateeb, and Sultan want to create a tracking device to be placed on motorcycles, and other personal vehicles, to stop individuals from getting lost in the desert. Based on their expertise rhey are looking at providing free training on how to stay safe whilst going on desert treks and then offering their products as a additional paid add on.

Nour Hisham & Alfan AlKtebi

The Project in a Nutshell:

AlFan and Nour are two healthcare specialist who are designing a ‘Health Taxi Company’ that aims to ensure access to health care facilities to improve healthcare utilization outcomes and status.

Noof Ali Al Hosani & Fatima Ali Al Hosani

The Project in a Nutshell:

Due to the lack of recycling of plastics, car tires and other materials, and lack of awareness about reusing materials, Noof & Fatima want to create an environmentally friendly café.

Abdullah Al Matar

The Project in a Nutshell:

Abdullah is working on an app called ‘Meet the Locals’ which connects tourists with locals to experienced individualized and authentic Emirati culture. The app also aims to provide satisfying jobs to marginalized members of the UAE.

Mariam Nasser Almansouri

The Project in a Nutshell:

Mariam is establishing a therapy center which uses dogs to act as companions to children with autism to help them improve social interactions and relationships, expand verbal and nonverbal communication, teach life skills, increase interest in activities and decrease stress within the family.

Balqees AlMesbahi & Bushra Abdulhameed

The Project in a Nutshell:

Bushra & Balqees are creating a social enterprise that supports special needs children to create art that the company will sell at galleries. Each piece will be unique and a percentage of the profits will go back to the artists. They enterprise will have rotating exhibition and each time focus on a different medium and topic.

Khalid Ali Almaazemi & Maryam Bin Hammad

The Project in a Nutshell:

Based on their HR experience Mariam and Khaled have realized that the traditional models of CPD is not adding value to companies. They have therefore developed Continuing Professional Development–UAE to provide both CPD International Accreditation Standards job paths and qualified training program plans based either on sector’s need or individual performance test and resulting in raising employee’s and sector’s performances.

Hayfa Al Mesmari

Hayfa is creating an Arabic language website that provides a platform for students and teachers to crowd-create educational & teaching tools.

Dr. Sara Al Mutawa, Maitha Salem Al Tamimi, and Raghad Mahmoud Hussien

The Project in a Nutshell:

Sara, Maitha, and Raghad want to create a research center that answers to individual, company, and societal needs.

Halima Almeqbali & Haya Taha

The Project in a Nutshell:

Their project aims to empower women from low-income families with training and access to resources to train and get paid opportunities. The company will be the mediator between the women they train and their future employers, insuring both parties are satisfied.

Rashed Saleh Alnahdi & Abdulla Al Saiari

The Project in a Nutshell:

Abdulla and Rashid are working on a platform to provide workshops to help integrate special needs people into society by offering services such as sign language education to the wider community. 

Hussain Abdalla Sajwani

The Project in a Nutshell:

Hussain is developing a platform that brings together learners who need mentors and gurus/coaches who are successful & influential. Each learner can choose a coach that matches his/her needs, personality, ambitions and expectations.
